Hormones impact functions like mental clarity, sexual desire, body weight, and mental health, just to name a few. The right balance of hormones is critical for a happy and healthy life. As we age, changes in this delicate balance of hormones can result in hormone deficiencies, leading to a variety of symptoms such as night sweats, insomnia, weight gain, depression, decreased sexual desire, and more.

Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) is a very precise way of replacing the exact hormones your body needs to regain a balanced state. At Pro Health Center we can individualize a plan that best suits your body’s needs.

Is BHRT Safe?

BHRT has a terrific record of safety and has been in use in the United States since 1938. Clinical studies from all over the world demonstrate that BHRT is not only safe but also has a lower incidence of side effects when compared to use of synthetic hormones often found in gels, creams, and injectables.

The great appeal of bioidentical hormones is that they are natural, and our bodies can metabolize them as it was designed to do, minimizing side effects. Synthetic hormones are quite strong and often produce intolerable side effects. Moreover, using our approach bioidentical hormones can be titrated and matched individually to each woman’s needs — something that’s just impossible with mass-produced products.

BHRT provides significant benefits for patients, just a few of which include:

  • Improved mental clarity

  • Renewed sexual desire

  • Increased energy levels

  • Reduced body fat

  • Decreased depression and anxiety

  • Better sleep

  • Fewer night sweats or hot flashes

  • Healthy sense of well-being

How do I know if it's right for me?

Are you suffering from any of these symptoms?

• Weight Gain• Fatigue• Weight Loss Resistance• Depression/Anxiety• Premature Wrinkles• Hair Loss• Hot Flashes• Brain Fog• Trouble Sleeping• Vaginal Dryness• Low Libido• Mood Changes• Irregular Periods• Night Sweats

If you say yes, YOU'RE answer could be BHRT.

An individualized approach is best. We begin with laboratory tests of hormone levels (a so-called “hormone panel”). This panel is measuring the levels of hormones in your body at 4 different times of the day. When warranted, we then prescribe a precise dosage of bioidentical estrogens, progesterone, testosterone, and/or . Each patient is then monitored carefully through regular follow-up hormone panels to ensure she gets symptom relief at the lowest possible dosage. In the initial stages, we will do a hormone panel every three months. Once balance is restored, we’ll do one panel a year at the time of the annual exam.

A minority of women will need to add prescription-strength hormone supplements to get complete relief, at least through a transition period. We recommend they use bioidentical hormones, preferably in a compounded form personalized to their needs by an experienced practitioner. When a woman can’t find a practitioner to prescribe compounded bHRT, there are now numerous trademarked bHRT options that conventional practitioners can prescribe for her.

No Obligation Consult

A woman’s hormonal balance is ideally in a dynamic equilibrium that shifts from day to day, week to week, and through the years. When you give your body the support it needs, it can effectively reset itself, because it’s equipped and programmed for balance and wellness. So we recommend beginning with the gentlest form of support possible to allay your discomfort and tweaking it as you go. Causes of Lower Back Pain

If you are dealing with simple back pain, the culprit could be tight, overworked muscles. The muscles of the back work very hard all day and often get very little attention. Over time these muscles can become tight or can begin to spasm. This can cause chronic pain.

More serious types of back pain are often contributed to issues of the vertebra in the spinal column. Disorders of the vertebra can include bulging and herniated discs.

Visiting a chiropractor can be your first step in finding ongoing pain relief for your issues.

Can Chiropractic Care Help?

Our chiropractic office, serving Fountain Inn, Gray Court, Greenwood, Waterloo, Joanna, Clinton, Mountville, Newberry, Columbia, Greenville, and Laurens, offers back pain relief through several treatment options. The most common treatment used for back pain is spinal manipulation. Through spinal manipulation, the doctor will manipulate the spine and the surrounding tissues to bring better alignment and blood flow to the back.

Other effective treatments include massage therapy, hot and cold therapy, cold laser therapy, lifestyle adjustments, and exercises.

What Should I Expect at My First Visit?

During your first visit to Pro-Health Clinic, your overall health will be evaluated. You may undergo diagnostic testing to pinpoint the exact cause of your pain. Once this initial visit is over, the doctor will create a customized treatment plan for you.

Chiropractic care is beneficial in treating back pain, but for many patients, it takes several treatment sessions to achieve optimal results. The time you invest in chiropractic treatment, however, is well worth the benefits you will gain.
